After two months on the job, Lakeylah White was fired as Grenada City Manager after a contentious meeting and a decision made behind closed doors.
Trina George, who previously held the director of personnel job for the city, has been named interim city manager to replace White.
The motion to dismiss White was made by Ward One City Councilman Warren Cox and seconded by Ward Six Councilman Larry Vance. The vote took place in executive session and passed 5-1-1. Voting in favor of the motion, in addition to Cox and Vance, were Ward Two Councilman Pete Wilson, Ward Four Councilman Ernest Hargrove and Ward Seven City Councilman Ronnie Merriman.
