Mary Nell Lowrimore

Mrs. Mary Nell Simpson Lowrimore, 56, of Coffeeville, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 20, 1962, in Grenada to John Hugh and Glenda Lee Cohea Simpson. Mary Nell was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church near Coffeeville, and she served as song leader and enjoyed singing gospel music. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services were Sunday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Earl Flemons officiating. Interment was in the Clear Springs Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years John Lowrimore; one daughter Amy Lowrimore Brackett (Jason) of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn.; two sons, Kevin Lowrimore (Liza) of Coffeeville and Keith Lowrimore (Leeanna) of Grenada; one sister Nita Clair of Houlka; three brothers, Johnny Simpson and Leonard Simpson, both of Coffeeville, and Gene Simpson of Greenwood; and eight grandchildren, Nicholas Lowrimore, Emma Lowrimore, Will Brackett, Reagan Lowrimore, Haven Lowrimore, Kason Brackett, Presley Brackett and Addilyn  Lowrimore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Rita Orsbon and a grandson James Paxton Lowrimore.

Pallbearers were Justin Ayers, Richard Bennett, Jason Brackett, Dale Gaither, Brad Haynes, David Simpson, Jeff Simpson and Jeremy Staggs. Honorary pallbearers were her brothers, Gene, Johnny and Leonard Simpson.

Eva Jane Rodgers

Mrs. Eva Jane Langford Rodgers, 81, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

She was born July 28, 1938, in Derma to Curtis and Clara Vanlandingham Langford. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Pentecostals of Grenada.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5,  at The Pentecostals of Grenada with the Rev. Damon Tipton officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Springs Cemetery near Derma. Family and friends will gather from noon until service time Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include her son, Curtis Rodgers of Grenada; sister, Inez Smith of Arkansas; a brother, Johnny Langford of Calhoun City; a granddaughter, Kimberly Gibson of Saltillo; one grandson, Ethan Curt Rodgers; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Rodgers of Coffeeville; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George Thomas Rodgers; twin sons, Bobby Thomas Rodgers and Bobby Wayne Rodgers; grandson Thomas Rodgers; and nine siblings, Jessie Mae Blaylock, Lounez Patterson, Betty Edwards, Vicky Rogers, Nell Turner, Julie Ann Langford, Jimmy Langford, C.W. Langford and Frank Langford.

Mary Ruth Evans

Mary Ruth Ramage Evans, a long-time resident of Grenada, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, in Mer Rouge, La.

Born April 21, 1925, in Vardaman, Mary Ruth received a Bachelor of Science in English from Delta State College. She continued her education at Delta State, and she received her M.Ed. in Library Science.

Mary Ruth taught high school English at Grenada High School for many years, then took a position as the high school librarian, where she worked until her retirement.

Mary Ruth was proceeded in death by her husband Bro. Finley Evans; her parents, William Jesse Ramage and Lydia Bell Lee Ramage, her brother Bobby Ray Ramage, four unborn babies, and her great-great-niece Katelyn Grace Coulter.

Mary Ruth love her family, good food and socializing.  She enjoyed going on road trips with friends, working in her yard, and she had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

She is survived by her brother Tommy Lee Ramage (Bettie Kate); her nephews Rick Ramage (Robert Fortenberry), Tommy Ramage Jr. (Mary Ann), Danny Roberts, Steve Roberts; her nieces, Suzy Clark (LO), Robin Parker (Larry); great-nieces, Christy Harris (Mike), Anna Cobb, Abbie Ramage, Jennifer Jenkins (Jared), Emily Wilson (Jeff); great-nephews, Jeremy Parker (Suzanne), Zack Parker (Ashley), Micah Parker and great-great-nephews, Blake Cobb, Dean Cobb, Joshua Parker, Luke Rall; great-great-nieces, Sara Grace Parker, Caroline Parker, Natalie Parker, and her special friend who lived with her for 20 years and was her caregiver, Mary Ellen Sanders. She is also survived by her precious fur baby Fred. Each and every one forementioned brought great joy to her life, as she did to them. She will be truly missed by all her family, friends, and fellow teachers.

A funeral service honoring Mary Ruth’s life was held Sunday at Grenada First Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Ramage and Bro. John Boler officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery Vardaman.

Parker Funeral Home of Bruce was entrusted with arrangements.

Richard James Stoker III

Mr. Richard James “Ricky” Stoker III, 59, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 16, 1959, in Michigan to Mary Leigh Garner Stoker and Richard James Stoker Jr.

Ricky had worked for many years as a jeweler with his family in their business Stoker Jewelry. He was a faithful member of Elliott Baptist Church and also enjoyed working in spreading the Gospel through his involvement in Gideons International. Ricky also spent countless hours working to make the community better through his work with the Grenada Lions Club and the Grenada Exchange Club.

A graveside service was held a Monday at the Woodlawn Memorial Park with Bro. Mike Payton officiating.

Survivors include two sisters, Libby Ferguson of Grenada and Lynn Foreman (Robert) of Hattiesburg; two nieces, Samantha Garrick and Melanie Walker (Jeremy); two nephews, Will Ferguson (Amanda) and Eric Foreman; as well as four greatnieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Martha Stoker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lions Club, Exchange Club or the Gideons.

Judy Rodgers Tingle

Mrs. Judy Carol Rodgers Tingle, 58, of Holcomb, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center-Grenada.

She was born July 5, 1961, in Grenada to J.W. and Bonnie Bess Baker Rodgers.  She was devoted homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Dr. Bob Self and the Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating. Interment will follow in the Holcomb Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include two daughters, Tiffany Long (Brent) of Grenada and Courtney Bullard (Tucker) of Carroll County; one brother William “Pig” Rodgers of Calhoun City; three grandsons whom wholeheartedly adored, Carson Honeycutt, Carter Honeycutt and Charlie Long; and a cousin she loved like sister, Melissa Hankins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Barry Tingle.

Pallbearers will be James Baker, Tucker Bullard, Dalton DeLoach, Taylor DeLoach, Bill Hankins and Brent Long.
