Madeline C. Brown

 Memorial services for Madeline C. Brown, 74, of Grenada, are at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Peter‘s Catholic Church in Grenada.
Madeline died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital. She was born on March 4, 1945, in Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Raymond Richard DeWolfe and Sophie Lucy Cyliniski DeWolfe.
Madeline was the manager of the cleaning department of a hotel in Florida until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter‘s Catholic Church in Grenada.
Madeline is survived by her sister Ann Marie Ferguson of Grenada; a niece Deborah Bowen of Grenada; a nephew Oather Lee Ferguson and his wife Sherri, of Pensacola, Fla.; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends at the Providence Assisted Living Home in Grenada who were like family to her.

Theresa Louise Garnett

Miss Theresa Louise Garnett, 59, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 21, 1960, in Ft. Lee, Va., to Allison and Lenore Smith. She was a retired truck driver and attended the Elliott Church of Christ.
Memorial service plans are pending and will be announced by McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.
Survivors include her long-time companion Andy Johnson; four brothers, Jimmy Hannah, Michael Hannah, Cory Smith and Phillip Smith; two sisters, Earlene Robinson and Lisa Cobb; and Andy’s children whom she loved as her own, Christopher Owen Johnson and Amanda Leigh Melton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Irene Bratton McMahan

Funeral services for Irene Bratton McMahan, 92, of Saltillo, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada.
Burial will follow in the Gore Springs Methodist Church Cemetery at Gore Springs. Visitation is Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Irene died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Creekside Assisted Living in Saltillo. She was born on March 16, 1927, in Yalobusha County and was the daughter of the late Will Bratton and Fannie Arbuckle Bratton.
Irene was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tupelo.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Oliver McMahan; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son William Larry McMahan of Tupelo; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchildren.

Bobby ‘Skeeter’ Pierce

Bobby Franklin “Skeeter” Pierce, 86, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at the Veterans Home in Oxford.
He was born in Fulton, Miss., to Garvin Smith and Jesker Spencer Pierce. He said he got his real education in the Red Clay Hills of Itawamba County. Mr. Pierce was a United States Veteran, serving in the Army during the Korean War. He was a 1959 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Conservation Service Department as a Agricultural Engineer after 37 years of service. Mr. Pierce was a member of the Miss. Valley Flywheelers Steam Engine Club. He enjoyed woodworking, blacksmith work, and working on his sawmill. He was a Mason and a Wahabi Shriner. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, which included a 1929 Ford Cabriolet Convertible, and 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner Convertible. He was an avid square dancer.
Services were Oct. 29 at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Fletcher Moorman officiating. Burial was in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Carolyn Moore Pierce; one son Ramon Moore Pierce of Grenada; one daughter Shannon Lea Pierce of Cordova, Tenn.; four sisters, Nell Wilemon (James) of Tupelo, Sue Jones of Fulton, Carolyn Perry of Tupelo and Lynda Sparks (Gerald) of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were Neal George, Brock Reese, Wayne Spencer, Holland Dye, Brad Reedy and Robert McElwrath.

Bruce Patridge

Mr. Eugene Bruce Patridge, 89, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center-Grenada.
He was born June 19, 1930, in Alva to Claude Winston and Georgia Mattie Dixon Patridge. Mr. Patridge was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada and had honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. Bruce spent his entire career in law enforcement, first serving 25 years with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and ultimately retiring after serving as Chief Deputy of the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department for seven years.
Funeral services were Thursday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Billy Little officiating. Interment followed in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include his son Bruce Abel Patridge (Ann) of Grenada; four grandchildren, Erin Alexander, McNeill England, William Hobson and Morgan Hobson; two great-grandchildren, Nic Donegan and Lydie Barefoot; and a step-daughter Susan Kvasnicka of Omaha, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Ann Abel Patridge and Vivan Patridge; one sister Ruth Brister and four brothers, Jewel, Earl Wayne, Clayton and Cole Patridge.
Pallbearers were members of the Mississippi Highway Patrol Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers were Arkell Armstrong, Weston Birdsong, Nic Donegan, William Hobson, Billy Wayne Patridge, Jimmy Patridge and Charles Scarbrough.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to his devoted caregivers, Katherine Griggs, Gwen Knox, Deborah Herron and Emma Harris, for the exceptional care and attention extended to Bruce.
