Grenada native Scott Whittemore is taking the helm as the interim  chief executive officer at the University of Mississippi Medical Center-Grenada.
The announcement was made Friday afternoon in a letter sent to all staff at UMMC – Grenada and UMMC – Holmes County. The letter stated that Whittemore will be the interim CEO as well as keep his position as chief financial officer for both campuses.
According to UMMC,  Debra Beavers will replace James Caldwell, chief nursing officer, in an interim position. Beavers will also keep her position as manager of quality assurance and performance improvement.
Whittemore, 47, takes over for Wes Sigler, who according to Kevin Cook, CEO of UMMC Health System, is no longer at the hospitals.
“Wes Sigler, who had served as CEO of the two hospitals, and James Caldwell, who had served as chief nursing officer at UMMC Grenada, are no longer serving in those roles,” according to the letter.
Sigler was named CEO of UMMC – Grenada in May 2018 — the third chief executive officer in a year.
