Maggie Ballard Dogan
Funeral services for Maggie Lee Ballard Dogan of Shelby, formerly of Chicago and native of Charleston, are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Union Grove M. B. Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Dogan, 73, died at Shelby Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Oct. 13, 2019. She was born on Nov. 15, 1935.
Mrs. Dogan is survived by her mother Catherine Ballard of Grenada; daughter Jenice Neal of Chicago; son Byron Dogan of Chicago; and sister Ophelia Brexton of Grenada.

Anslee Nevaeh Sanders
Anslee Nevaeh Sanders, infant daughter of Andrew Jacob Sanders and Ashley Nicole Climer, was born and passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oxford.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Holcomb Cemetery under the direction of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. The Rev. Kevin Tribble will officiate.
In addition to her parents, Anslee is survived her sisters, Emmalee, Mikaylee and Paislee; grandparents, Melissa Martin (Gordon Fly) of Duck Hill, Donnie Climer (Ellen) of Nesbit, Shelley Chamberlain (Joseph) of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert Sanders of Horn Lake; great-grandparents, Sandy Climer (Charlie) of Cherokee Village, Ark., Mary Jo Maylen of Michigan, and Mary Jones (Charles Sanders) of Michigan; aunts and uncles, Christian and Donnie Climer Jr., Cody Climer, Siri Climer, Keith and Nicole White, Christian Sanders, Lee Ann Sanders and Bella Sanders; and two cousins, Tripp Climer and Grayson Climer. Anslee was preceded in death by her sister Taylee and many loving great-grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Keith White and Donnie Climer Jr.

Betty Selby Ruth
Mrs. Betty Selby Ruth, 85, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 19, 1934, in Marks to Rena Cox and Grover Clinton Selby. Betty and her husband Fred Ruth owned and operated six Kentucky Fried Chicken stores in the Mississippi area, including the franchise in Grenada.
Betty was an accomplished businesswoman having been in the Kentucky Fried Chicken business for over 50 years. She was an active member in her church in Grenada and a loving mother and grandmother. Betty was well-known for her generosity and loving spirit and will be missed by all.
Funeral services were Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Grenada with the Rev. Danny Williams and Dr. John Boler officiating. Interment was in the Lambert Memorial Cemetery in Lambert.
Survivors include her husband Fred L. “Pat” Ruth; one daughter Donna Ruth Ackman of Grenada; one son Albert Alan Ruth, of Cave Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren, Anna Ackman Winkler, Selby Ackman Turner, Patrick Allen Foote, Jackson Sterling Ruth, Reese and Riley Smith.
She was preceded in death by her son Fred Lawrence “Larry” Ruth Jr., her daughter Jan Ruth Foote and sister Maurine Selby Thomas.
Memorials may be made to The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Pallbearers were Jay Ackman, Bobby Biddy, Warren Cox, Bo Denson, Tripp Hawkins, Jasmon Smith, Cole Turner and Randle Winkler. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Denson and Buddy Long.
