Joyce Lantrip

 Joyce Lantrip, formerly of Grenada, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2019, at Gulfport Care Center.
Services will be conducted at a later date.
Mrs. Lantrip was born in Charleston to C.I. and Mary Cobb. She retired from AT&T of 22 years.
Survivors include her daughter Natalie S. Patton, son Kenney Newman; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Betty Ruth

Betty Ruth of Grenada died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at her home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.

Daniel E. Waller

Funeral services for Daniel E. “Buster” Waller, 94, of Oxford, formerly of Coffeeville, are at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada.
Burial will follow in the Coffeeville City Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Mr. Waller died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at the Oxford Veterans Home.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1925, in Coffeeville and was the son of the late Thomas Whitten Waller and Edith Erma Pittman.
Buster was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a field technician. He was a member of the Coffeeville Church of Christ and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II.
Mr. Waller was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Edith Waller; his wife Polly Waller; one sister Catherine Waller; two brothers, Jack Waller and Robert Lewis Waller; and three nephews, Lonnie Waller, Donnie Waller and Harold Waller.
He is survived by two nieces, Rita Turner of Alabama and Kay Lewis of Oxford, and three nephews, Larry Waller of Scooba, Dale Waller of Grenada and Gary Waller of Coffeeville.

Quentin Kobin Worthy

Quentin Kobin Worthy, 62, of Cadaretta passed away at his home on Oct. 12, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1956, in Eupora to Quentin and Maggie Woods Worthy. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Eupora High School and Mississippi State University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and the Junior Varsity MSU cheerleading squad.
After graduating, he began his farming career. For 38 years, he was the owner of Kobin Worthy Farms and Worthy Pest Management Inc. He was a member of the Mississippi Agriculture Consultant Association (MACA) and served as a member on the Board of Directors for the Four County Gin.
Kobin is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Artman Worthy, daughter Maggie Worthy, son Landon Worthy, sister Fran Pittman (Alfred); nieces, Maci Flautt (Graham), Elizabeth Byars (Klint), and nephew Craig Pittman (Hannah), as well as a number of great-nieces and a great-nephew. Furthermore, he is survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Pearl Artman, sister-in-laws, Tina Love (David) and Terri Gurley (Rusty), several other nieces and nephews, as well as his lifelong friend and work colleague Patton Embry (Allison).
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 16, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Home (4817 Commerce Street, Grenada) and from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral, which will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, at Philadelphia Baptist Church (Cadaretta, Miss., 38929) with burial following at Springhill Cemetery.
