Doyle DeLoach, 82, of Grenada, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at his residence.

James Earl Kirk
Mr. James Earl “Jimmy” Kirk, 51, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at his residence.
He was born May 20, 1968 in Lancaster, Calif., to Marvin Earl and Sue Kirk. He had honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 21 years of service as a Tech Sergeant. Jimmy had served five tours to Iraq prior to his retirement. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and an accomplished musician.
A graveside service was Monday at the North Mississippi Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Kilmichael with Dr. Clarence Cooper officiating.
Survivors include his mother Sue Kirk of Grenada; two daughters, Lauren Cotten of Orange Beach, Ala., and Britnee Kirk of Starkville; one son Bradley Kirk of Brest, France; one sister Janine Kirk Lee (Chris) of Oxford; one brother John Wesley Kirk of Grenada; and two grandchildren, William Lonsdale and Eli Cotten.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Helen Shows Moffett

Mrs. Helen Shows Moffett, 94, of Grenada, formerly of Gulfport, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Providence Assisted Living.
She was born Nov. 18, 1924, to E.J. and Nancy Williams Shows. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada, where she has lived the last 23 years. She was actively involved in the John Rundle Sunday School Class.
Prior to moving to Grenada, she was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport. Mrs. Moffett was a graduate of Mississippi Southern College, now the University of Southern Mississippi. She met her husband W.G. Moffett while coaching basketball at one of her first teaching assignments at Rocky Creek. She spent the majority of her teaching career in the Gulfport Public Schools. When not involved in church activities, she enjoyed volunteering as a “Pink Lady” at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose Christian influence will be fondly remembered for many years to come.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at First United Methodist Church in Grenada. Interment will be beside her husband in the Biloxi National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
Survivors include one daughter Lynne Moffett Brister (Henry) of Grenada; one son Lee Moffett (Lisa) of Birmingham; six grandchildren, Hap Brister, Heath Brister, Hayes Brister, Tatum Moffett Meadows, Cole Moffett and Pierce Moffett; five great-grandchildren and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodfin Grady “Woodie” Moffett; one son Larry Moffett and a brother Paul J. Shows.
Pallbearers will be Hap Brister, Hayes Brister, Heath Brister, Tate Brister, Cole Moffett and Pierce Moffett.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church – Grenada or Shipman United Methodist Church.

Lois Laverne Osborne

Lois Laverne Boyette Osborne passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 87.
She entered the world on March 12, 1932, and was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 3, 2019. She was a friend to many and loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Spencer Osborne Jr.
She was the mother of John S. Osborne III, Gary S. Osborne, and James R. Osborne; grandmother of John M. Osborne, Jennifer M. Osborne, Austin J Osborne, Ashlyn A Osborne, Katelyn Sannasardo and Sammy Sannasardo; Great-grandmother of Joana Osborne, Julia Osborne, Tyler Dauzat, and Dylan Dauzat; great-great grandmother of Kassie Dauzat and Ava Grace Dauzat.
Visitation and short prayer service were held Monday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Interment was at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
