In the waning minutes of Friday’s Kirk-Marshall game, it looked as though the Raiders would drop their second straight disappointing game.
They had led the Patriots 20-6 in the second only to see them rally to lead 22-20. Marshall was putting together a drive that would seal the deal on Kirk.
Then it happened.
Kirk had something good happen to them for the first time this season.
Facing a fourth and one at the KA 25, a first down would probably have sealed the game for the Patriots. Instead, they fumbled and senior Logan Hall scooped up the ball and ran the ball down to the Marshall 15. Two plays later, Alex McDurmon went over from eight yards out. A Parker Goodson two-point conversion made it 28-22 with 1:15 left. The Raiders held on to post their first win of the season.
