New City Manager selected

The Grenada City Council has hired La’Keylah White as the new city manager.
The action comes a day after Trey Baker announced that he was leaving the job after nearly three years.
In a 6-1 vote, made in executive session, the city council approved White to start as city manager effective Monday.  Baker’s last day on the job is today.
Ward Three City Councilman Lewis Johnson made the motion to hire White followed by a second from Ward Seven City Councilman Ronnie Merriman.  Ward One City Councilman Warren Cox voted against the hire, Mayor Billy Collins announced the vote a small group of onlookers following the closed door meeting.
