Taking one of her most inexperienced teams into a season, Grenada High School slow pitch softball Coach Leslie Lancaster took her team to Winona Tuesday to open the season.
They sent seven new faces into the doubleheader. Early on, they played like a young team and found a way to win Game 1 by a score of 10-6. It was a different story in the night as GHS cruised to a 12-0 win.
“I thought in the opening game, we came out really nervous with so many new faces,” Lancaster said. “We found a way to win that. Game 2, we hit the ball so much better.
