Margaret Dell O’Bryant

Mrs. Margaret Dell McGarrity O’Bryant, 82, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 31, 1936, in Tallahatchie County to Ira Glenn and Minerva Jane Scallions McGarrity. She retired from Pennaco Hosiery after working there for many years, and she was a faithful member of the Stonefield Church of God. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook and singer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Stonefield Church of God at Cascilla with the Revs. Mark Moore, Steve Bullion and Farrell Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Henson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Survivors include four daughters, Teresa Hanks of Grenada, Sandi Page (Daniel) of Jackson, Elissa Diane Hood of Flower Mound, Texas, and Angela Dell Smallwood (Randy McGregor) of Grenada; two brothers, Guy McGarrity of Sebastopol and Perry McGarrity of Winona; seven grandchildren, Jeremy O’Bryant, Eric Hanks, Matt Hanks, Lorelei O’Bryant, Chris King, Lee Smallwood and Eli Smallwood; eight great-grandchildren; and a special daughter Hung Wah Ho.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert “Bill” O’Bryant; sisters, Martha Ray Busby and Hazel Smith, and a brother, Wayne McGarrity.

Donald Blake Palmer

Donald Blake Palmer, 40, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.
He was born Jan. 17, 1979, in Grenada to Donald Wayne and Marie Culver Palmer. Blake enjoyed attending Christ Community Church and was an avid outdoorsman. Among his many hobbies were woodworking, landscaping, hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with the Rev. John Goldwater officiating. Interment will follow in the Culver Family Cemetery in Marshall County. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include his wife Tina Palmer; his mother Marie Palmer of Waterford; sister Lorea Perkins of Oxford; step-daughter Leslie Kroninger of Grenada; and nieces, Mary Kate and Anna Claire Perkins of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Wayne and Mavis Palmer and Robert and Evelyn Culver, and uncles, Kenny and David Palmer.

Jerry L. Williams

Funeral services for Jerry L. “Bubba” Williams of Grenada are Saturday at noon at New Life Christian Fellowship Church with burial in Haven Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Williams, 73, died at his home on July 23, 2019. He was born on July 25, 1946. Mr. Williams was a member of the Jolly Boys Club and enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife Johnnie Williams of Grenada; daughter Tosha Williams of Memphis; three sons, Rundle Rhodes of Fillmore, Calif., Jerry Williams Jr. of Batesville, and Darryl Williams of Grenada; three sisters, Lela House of Grenada, Marianna Thompson of Maywood, Ill., and Mary Williams of Memphis; and five brothers, Tyrone Williams, Melvin Williams, Vernell Williams and Ronald Williams, all of St. Louis, and Kenneth Williams of Memphis.
