More than two dozen people heard at a public meeting this week what it would take to get a ‘skyscraping-size’ cross erected in Grenada.
The meeting consisted of area religious leaders and citizens in favor of a cross being constructed at or near a Grenada exit on Interstate 55, following a trend set by other area communities.
Approximately 30 people were at the Lewis Johnson Senior Citizens Complex to hear plans, hopes and testimonies about placing the Christian symbol prominently in Grenada.
Although no land has been donated for site, citizens hope to join Batesville, Winona, Florence and Eupora as cities with crosses.
