The city council will have to wait just a little longer to finalize the $6 million bond that will go toward improving the city’s infrastructure.
The council voted to table the matter and take it up at a special called meeting later this month.
Ward Four City Councilman Ernest Hargrove made the motion, which was seconded by Ward One Councilman Warren Cox, to table finalizing the bond. According to City Manager Trey Baker, the bond is in it’s final steps and will soon be in the hands of the city.
The city council has already passed a resolution calling for the bond, and put the sports complex bond on hold while they tackle some of the town’s many infrastructure needs.
