Jerry Bowen Caldwell

Jerry Bowen Caldwell Mr. Jerry Bowen Caldwell, 66, of Coffeeville, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, in Coffeeville.

He was born April 14, 1953, in Memphis to Everett Neal and Doris Jewell Caldwell.

Jerry enjoyed drawing, cutting grass, singing, listening to Elvis and the Beatles music and wood burning, and he loved his old red truck. He was a member of Sherman Baptist Church.

Funeral services were Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Coffeeville with Bro. Johnnie Halderman officiating. Interment was in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Linda Calder Caldwell; daughter Emily Kaitlyn Caldwell; sister Trisha Brink (Chris) of Southaven; two brothers, John Caldwell (Tracy) of Southaven and Larry McMullen (Ann) of Hattiesburg; mother-in-law Mary Ann Calder of Coffeeville; and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Jean Caldwell and his father-in-law the Rev. James E. Calder.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Bray, Greg Brinson, Emmitt Brown, Chad Connor, Ben Liles Jr., and Jerry Statler.

Charles Thomas Lockett

Funeral services for Charles Thomas “Charlie” Lockett of Winona, formerly of Grenada, were Sunday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Winona with burial following in the church cemetery.

The Rev. T.R. Darsey officiated. Mr. Lockett, 67, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

He was born in Grenada to Donald R. and Etta Mac Triplett Lockett on Dec. 29, 1951. He was a 1969 graduate of John Rundle High School in Grenada and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Winona. He was a self-employed entrepreneur and had an avid golf career.

He is survived by his wife Laurie Middleton Lockett of Winona; daughter Stephanie Bishop (Kevin) of Grenada; sister Renee Geiger (Roy) of Grenada; brother Randy Lockett of Starkville; grandson Taylor Morris of Southaven; great-grandson Casey Morris of Southaven, and a host of nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions can be made to Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery.

Dortha May Myers

Ms. Dortha May Myers, 56, of Coffeeville, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, in Cleveland.

She was born Oct. 5, 1962, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Clyde Robert and Nancy Polina Dawkins Myers.

Memorial service plans are pending and will be announced by McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service.

Survivors include her son Raymond Wayne Poyner Jr., of Kosciusko; mother Nancy Myers of Coffeeville; one sister Rebecca Carol Myers of Coffeeville; four brothers, James Leon Myers of Richland, Mo.; Clyde Ray Myers of California; Robert Lewis Myers of Conroe, Texas, and Henry Myers of Shingle Springs, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents, Dortha and Maxey Ford and Hosea and Mary Dawkins.

Roselyn V. Power

Mrs. Roselyn “Rose” VanMiddlesworth Power, 82, a long-time resident of Tunica, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at Providence Assisted Living in Grenada.

She was born May 4, 1937, in Memphis to Leonard and Golda Schleoman VanMiddlesworth. She had worked for many years alongside her husband as bookkeeper for J.M. Power Farms in Tunica. Rose was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Tunica where she had served as a Sunday school teacher.

Funeral services were Monday at First Baptist Church in Tunica with the Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Williams (Jack) of Duck Hill and Shelley Williams (Keith) of Gulfport; one son James M. “Tracy” Power III of Destin, Fla.; six grandchildren, Keith Williams, Kyle Williams, Mandy Vanlandingham, Micheal Brock, Garrett Williams and Katie Williams, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Montgomery “Teddy” Power Jr.

Pallbearers were Micheal Brock, Bradley Vanlandingham, Chuck VanMiddlesworth, Garrett Williams, Keith Williams Jr., and Kyle Williams.
