June Gorton Hammond
Graveside services for June Gorton Hammond, 92, of Grenada will be at 11 a.m., Monday, June 24, at the Greenville Cemetery in Greenville.
Mrs. Hammond died in Grenada on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
She is survived by her daughter Ellen “Honey” Sammons of Collierville, Tenn., and son Vernon Allen Hammond of New Orleans; her brother, D. Gorton of Carbondale, Ill.; four grandchildren including Carrie Makamson of Grenada; many great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Frances Manley Hill
Mrs. Frances Manley Hill, known universally and affectionately as Mama Hill, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019, surrounded by her family at her home in Holcomb.
Mama Hill was born Aug. 13, 1928, in Sheffield, Ala., to Thomas Larkin and Myrtle Dotson Manley. She was the cornerstone of her family and will be remembered for her kind, sweet spirit and many delicious meals she prepared for friends and family alike. Mama Hill was a devoted member of Holcomb Baptist Church and had spent 54 years of her life providing child care in her home in Holcomb. Her life was a testament to her faith in Jesus Christ and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were Monday at Holcomb Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating. Interment was in the Holcomb Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Parker (Harris), Lynda McCalop (Donald), and Carol Holland (Ed), all of Holcomb; one son Billy Hill of Duck Hill; eight grandchildren, Amy Vance, Chuck Parker, Donna Brown, Lisa Holland, Eddie Holland, Shane Hardin, Leigh Ann Melton and Kristy Pena; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law Duane Hardin; and a special niece Cecile Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband W.T. Hill Jr.; daughter Deborah Hardin; two sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers were Calop Brown, Joey Brown, Shane Hardin, Eddie Holland, Ryan Jennings and Chuck Parker.

Fannie Aslean Lofton
Mrs. Fannie Aslean Lofton, 89, of Mantee died Wednesday June 12, 2019, at NMMC Nursing Home in Eupora.
Visitation will be Friday, June 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Montgomery Mortuary in Houston. Services will Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Ridge M.B. Church in Woodland. Interment will be in Community Cemetery in Woodland.
Mrs. Lofton was born June 18, 1929. She was a homemaker and child care provider. She was a member of New Hope M.B. Church, Woodland. She was also a member of Heroines of Jericho Rising Star Court #150.
Mrs. Lofton is survived by three daughters, Fannie Shubert of Temple Hills, Md., Leatha O’Connor of Forestville, Md., Barbara Montgomery of Grenada; one son Howard Lofton of Chesapeake, Va., nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Georgia Pearson McClain
Funeral services for Georgia Mae Pearson McClain of Grenada are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Greater Pine Hill M.B.Church with burial in Haven Rest Cemetery.
Mrs. McClain, 86, died at UMMC-Grenada on June 14, 2019. She was born on Feb. 12, 1933. Mrs. McClain loved taking care of children and provided childcare to many.
Mrs. McClain is survived by three daughters, Barbara Faye Mitchell, Mildred Curtis and Emily Patty, all of Grenada; six sons, Dennis McClain Jr., Dan McClain, Curtis “Kent” McClain, David McClain and Natavious McClain, all of Grenada, and James McClain of Suwanee, Ga.; and two brothers, Francis Pearson of Grenada and Vollie Pearson Jr.

Jim Henry Pryor
Funeral services for Jim Henry Pryor of Grenada are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Black Jack M. B. Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Pryor, 78, died at UMMC-Grenada on June 15, 2019. He was born on Jan. 27, 1941. Mr. Pryor was a retired maintenance worker at the University of California.
Mr. Pryor is survived by his sister Ethel Powell and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
