Red Hots ease to big win over Divas

Teams at the Grenada Youth League were in full action both Thursday and Friday of last week.
Here is what happened in Thursday’s games.

Farm League

Layne Hart McLendon and Maddox Rainey both had homeruns to lead the Mud Bugs to a 13-6 win over the Fireballs.
Cole Sullivan and Jhett Melton were the offensive standouts. Nathan Beach and Alex Sartin played well on the defensive side.
Hayes Hartley homered for the Fireballs. He was helped offensively by Molly Melton and Brinley Berry. Blakely Jenkins and Kayden Glass were the defensive standouts.
In other action, Bo Maddox Breland and Jace Fowler were the offensive standouts leading the Lightning to a 10-8 win over the Rockets. Corbin Timbs and Tyshaun James had an outstanding defensive game.
Bentley Alexander and Kaleigh Reed led the Rockets offensively in a losing effort. Luke Carpenter and Tucker Koonce were the defensive standouts.

7-8 boys

Nate Woods and Mason Ford were the top offensive players as the Jaguars edged the Ballers 12-11.
Cade Snell and Duncan Pitcock paced the defensive effort.
Blake Kendall and Malcom Denman were the leaders on offense for the Ballers. Tanner Stroup and Parker Chapman had an outstanding defensive game.
In other action, Jude Liberto, Brently Thornton and Dawson George all homered as the Dare Devils outscored the Titans 21-18.
Dereck Ross and Billy Downs were standouts offensively for the Dare Devils. Charlie Bailey was the defensive leader.
Christen Caldwell homered for the Titans. Kasen Woods also had a solid game on offense. Levi Makamson and Logan Carson were the defensive standouts.

7-8 girls

Mary Ashton Surrell and Lexi Bell both homered to lead the Red Hots to a 19-5 win over the Diamond Divas. Rylee Tindall tripled for the Red Hots, and Kennedy Card played well on offense.
Elaina Estes and Aubree Sullinger had an outstanding defensive game.
Madison Armstrong and Kylie Smith led the Diamond Divas offensively. Mariah Pittman and Bella Winters paced the defensive effort.
Aubrey McDonald and Eva Rose both had a homerun as the Stars won a 7-6 decision over the Sweet Heat. Alex Delgado and Faith Fedric led the offensive effort.
Emma Grace Rocha and Madi Liberto were the defensive standouts.
Zoey Hamann had a homerun for the Sweet Heat. Swayze Allbritton and Claire Thomas were the offensive standouts.
Emma Allbritton and Kimber Crosby were the defensive standouts.
