Grenada County Coroner faces charges

Grenada County Coroner Eddie “Skeeter” Robinson III was arrested Thursday by the Attorney General’s Office for what that office calls “making unlicensed and fake sales of funeral plans to senior citizens.”

Robinson, 51, was indicted by a DeSoto County grand jury on six counts, according to AG officials. Robinson was indicted on two counts of insurance fraud, one count of wire fraud, one count of false pretense, one count of embezzlement and one count of conspiracy.

According to the AG’s office, Robinson’s business is  also listed in the indictment under three names: Eddie “Skeeter” Robinson Funeral Home, Robinson Funeral Home, and Eddie Robinson Funeral Homes.

This case began as an investigation in the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office and was also investigated by AG investigator Justin Harris, AG officials said, adding that it will be prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Steven Waldrup.
