Philip Alldread

Mr. Philip Alldread, 70, of Duck Hill, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in Daphne, Ala.
He was born Jan. 5, 1949, in Montgomery County to Benjamin Franklin and Lucille Bennett Alldread. Mr. Alldread had worked for many years as a machine operator at Heatcraft in Grenada. He also had retired after a long career with the Mississippi National Guard with the rank of Master Sergeant. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Philip served as treasurer for the MAC (Motorcycle Awareness Campaign) and was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with the Rev. John Goldwater officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the North Mississippi Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Alldread of Duck Hill; one daughter Rachel Alldread Holland (Eddie) of Grenada; one son Christopher Lee Alldread of Grenada; two step-daughters, Jerrica Nahwooksy of Grenada and Wendy Lufton of Hattiesburg; two step-sons, Jimi Smith of Holcomb and Jamie Humphrey of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Martha Greenslade of Germantown and Ellen Stafford of Winona; two brothers, Doyle Alldread of Elliott and Sam Alldread of Duck Hill; three grandchildren, Megan Rester, Alison Holland and Josh Alldread; and nine step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ed Alldread.

Gerald Dee Blue

Gerald (Jerry) Dee Blue, 82, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Grenada, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019.
He graduated from John Rundle High School and Mississippi State University.
Survivors include his wife JereLu Blue of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Carolyn Gray of Tupelo and Rose Ann Narvid of Spring, Texas; one daughter Bonnye Blue of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Gerald (Jerry) Dee Blue Jr. of Grenada; Brad Blue of Charlotte, N.C.; and Brian Blue of Matthews, N.C.; granddaughter Danielle Blue of Matthews, N.C.; and three grandsons, Clark Blue of Oxford; Joshua Blue and Sean Blue of Matthews, N.C.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rex Robert Blue and Minnie Omarie Blue, and his first wife Rosemarie Millican Blue.

Bobby Wayne Hood

Mr. Bobby Wayne Hood, 68, of Holcomb, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019, at his residence.
He was born April 24, 1951, in Carroll County to Frank James and Cuba Opal Brown Hood. Mr. Hood had worked for a number of years for the Mississippi Forestry Commission, and he had attended the Grenada Church of God.
A graveside service was held  Sunday at Calvary Cemetery in Carroll County.
Survivors include one daughter Myra Hood Pigg of Holcomb; one sister Mary Lee Mabry Dixon of Grenada; four grandchildren, Mallory Chamblee, Cody Chamblee, Jacob Hood and Talon Hood; and a daughter-in-law Chasity Hood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Bob Hood; sister Sue Schoolfield and two brothers, James Archie Hood and John Willie Hood.
