The Grenada Lady Chargers knew the task ahead when they opened the best of three series with six-time defending state champion Neshoba Central.
Grenada needed two solid games to dethrone the Lady Rockets. They came so close to doing that but fell short.
In game one, Grenada rallied from a 1-0 deficit and won a 5-2 decision. The series shifted to Philadelphia for games two and three.
The Lady Chargers fell behind 2-0 in the opening inning but tallied to tie the game at 2-2 and again at 3-3. Missed chances enabled them to close out the game as Neshoba Central won a 4-3 decision.
That decided momentum carried over into the deciding game. Neshoba built an 8-0 lead and went on to an 11-2 victory.
With the loss, GHS ends its magical run at 21-6. The Lady Rockets improve to 29-2 and will play Lafayette in the North Finals this week.
