Grenada Lake was spared from going over the Emergency Spillway during the weekend, but officials say the water is still extremely high, and they “have a long way to go. “
“We managed to open the middle gate this week two feet, and that will let some water out,” said Chris Terry, Grenada Lake’s natural resource manager. “That helped us out a lot, and I think that’s what kept us from going over.”
On Monday, lake officials opened the middle gate four and a half feet, releasing 1,700 cubic feet of water per second.
