Steve Couch, 58, of Grenada, died Monday, March 4, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.

Marcus C. Grimes Jr.

Marcus Cleveland Grimes Jr., 92, of Grenada, and beloved husband of 65 years to Katherine Louise Grimes, went home to be with His Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019.
He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and a member and Grand Master of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Mark served with pride in the 11th Airborne Division in World War II. After a brief career in education, Mark was employed as a salesman by Baird and Company in Greenville, where he worked for 34 years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a former member of First United Methodist Church.
Mark was the 1998 Grenada County Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year. He was a member of the Exchange Club and was the 1999 recipient of the Book of the Golden Deeds. Mark received the Virginia R. Hubbard Award in recognition of his selection as the Outstanding Volunteer of 2003. These reflect his dedication and service to the citizens of Grenada County and North Mississippi. He was involved in many aspects of service and gave selflessly of his time and resources.
Mark is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Collins (Royce) of Birmingham, Ala., and Kathy Bledsoe of Kansas City, Mo. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Andrea Flowers (Nathan); David Bledsoe; Stephanie Hall (Jeremy); Jo Bledsoe-Collins (Ted); Katherine Bledsoe; James Bledsoe; Joel Bledsoe; Meredith DeVore (Elliott); Griffin Collins (Hannah) and Rebecca Haggard (Heath). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Savannah Hall, Jeremiah Hall, Zackary Flowers, Isaac Flowers, Adelyln Flowers, Hadley DeVore and Wyatt DeVore; sister Patty Grimes, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Marcus Cleveland Grimes and his mother Vergil Maxwell Grimes. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Friendship Baptist Church, 475 Pearidge Road, Grenada, MS 38901.
A service to celebrate his life was held Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mary Elise Hood

Funeral services for Mary Elsie Hood, 84, of Gore Springs, were Sunday, March 3, at Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada.
Burial was in the Gore Springs Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hood died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at UMMC-Grenada.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1934, in Grenada and was the daughter of the late Earl Calvin Clanton and Lily Louise Gillon Clanton.
Mrs. Hood was a retiree of Grenada Bank where she worked as a branch manager. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a long-time member of the Gore Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Louise Clanton and her husband Clayton Hood.
Survivors include two sons, Darren Hood (Mary Jo) and Clay Hood (Gina); step-daughter Amanda Duke (Glen); sister Catherine Walton; grandchildren, Allison Robinson, Jessica Harrison, Anna Hood, Jared Biggers, Sydney Biggers, Michele McCarley and Peyton Duke; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Paul Keith Kelly

Funeral services for Paul Keith Kelly, 80, of Grenada, were Monday at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
Mr. Kelly died Friday, March 1, 2019, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1939. in Ironton, Ohio. and was the son of the late Frank Amos Kelly, and Helen Fay Adkins Kelly.
Mr. Kelly was employed for over 40 years as a papermaker. He was a member the Grenada First Presbyterian Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving between 1957 and 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Nora B. Kelly; and his brother Frank Amos Kelly Jr.
He is survived by two sons, Paul Keith Kelly Jr. and Travis Parke Kelly, both of Grenada; a sister Debbie Good of Nashville; and grandchildren, Paul Kelly III of Washington, Tori Kelly of Grenada, Tara Hopkins of Brandon and Cody Yeager of Grenada.

Larry Gene Long

Mr. Larry Gene Long, 68, of Duck Hill, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at his residence.
He was born March 17, 1950, in Grenada County to Charlie and Mary Norma Sykes Long. He worked for over 49 years at Modine in Grenada and was a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Monday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Tim Buchanan officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Duck Hill.
Survivors include his wife Vickie Morgan Long; two sons, Brian Long of Memphis and Brent Long (Tiffany) of Grenada; two daughters, Christy Mann (Jeff) of Gainesville, Ga., and Melanie Williams of Grenada; nine grandchildren, Jade Irwin (Marty), Lee Mann, Carley Caulder, Lanie Williams, Josie Williams, Carson Honeycutt, Carter Honeycutt, Charlie Long and Dakota Long; three great-grandchildren, Jenna Anne, Henry and Ben Irwin; and a special aunt Sue Hall of Grenada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lillian Karjala.
Pallbearers were Terry Haynes, Jay Hitchcock, Marty Irwin, David Raper, Josh Revell and Chris Yates.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Sunday School Class at Duck Hill Baptist Church, Bill Blount, Charles Norris, Tommy Rodgers, William Rodgers, Danny Timmons and Glenn Trotter.
Memorials may be directed to Legacy Hospice.

Blaire McKinley Miletello

Miss Blaire McKinley Miletello of Winona passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2019, in Grenada.
She was born Feb. 26, 2019, in Grenada to Matt and Corey Jackson Miletello.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael.
Other than her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Michael and Teresa Jackson of Winona, Serena Woods of Grenada, Leonard and Lesha Miletello of Dickson, Texas, and Tommy and Donna Woods of Gore Springs: great-grandparents, John and Lyndia Sivley, Ronnie and Linda Respess, and Dora Fly; aunts and uncles, Tanner Jackson (Savanna Pulliam), Nikki Woods, Kyle and Megan Doolittle, and cousins, Tom Doolittle and Jaxson Evans.
