Robert H. (Bob) Bennett
Robert H. (Bob) Bennett passed away Feb. 4, 2019, at his home.
Bob was born Dec. 7, 1956, in Grenada to Houston and Olene Bennett.
Bob worked for the City of Grenada for several years before the progression of McArdle’s Disease stopped him from having the strength and stability to continue his work. One aspect of his work with the city was the creation of scaled-down buildings reflecting the various businesses around the Square in Grenada. These were on display as part of the city’s Christmas decorations. Prior to working with the city, he worked with his father in home construction. Bob was also a well-trained trim carpenter and had excelled in that work for several years.
Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by a daughter Kirby Vaught (Sam) of Brandon; a son Nicholas Bennett (April) of Columbus; and a sister Margaret Leverette (Sid) of Belden.
He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Hayes Vaught and Ollie Vaught of Brandon and a niece Leigh Ann Bell (Robert) of Florence.
A private memorial will be held at the Duck Hill Cemetery where his ashes will be interred at his father’s and mother’s gravesite.
