Court Judge Jospeh Loper Jr., set a trial date for former Webster County Sheriff Tim Mitchell at the Grenada County Courthouse Wednesday morning.
Fifth Circuit Judge Loper set a trial date for June 24 in Webster County. Mitchell pleaded not guilty to a dozen counts that ranged from embezzlement to attempting to have sex with an inmate.
Mitchell, a two-term sheriff, was arrested last month by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
He is currently free on a $400,000 bond, but the judge ordered him to wear an ankle monitoring device and remain on house arrest.
