The second half of the season began Thursday for the Kirk Raiders and Raiderettes.
They journeyed to Clarksdale to face Lee Academy in their second district contest of the season.
The Raiders were looking to improve to 2-0 in the district with a win over the Colts. Kirk jumped to a 26-6 halftime lead and cruised to a 62-29 win.
In the girls contest, Kirk rallied from a halftime deficit of 31-29 to win a 63-45 decision.
The girls improved to 7-11 overall and 1-1 inside the district. The boys are 7-7 and 2-0 inside the league.
“We took care of the ball and created good shots out of transition,” boys Coach Dennis Sims said. “Chase (Rose) shot the ball well from the three-point line.”
Rose led all scorers with 28 points. The Raiders had a season-low of three turnovers. Kirk finished the night with 41 total rebounds, a season high.
