Sandra Edwards

Funeral services for Sandra Edwards, 75, of Holcomb, were Saturday at Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada.
Burial was in Bethel Cemetery at Oxberry.
Sandra died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
She was born on April 13, 1943, in Grenada and was the daughter of the late Durwood Smith and Mamie Lee Cunningham Smith.
Sandra was employed as a medical secretary until her retirement.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents: one brother, Alex B. Smith Sr.; and two sons, Michael Lynn Brewer and Richard Lee Brewer.
She is survived by one daughter, Rexanne Green of Munford, Tenn.; one son, Eric (Kelly) Brewer of Holcomb; two grandchildren, Erin (Katherine) Brewer of Phillipp and Micheal Brewer of Holcomb; and one great-grandchild Krislyn Brewer.

David Lee Etter

David Lee Etter, 66, of Horn Lake, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, in Horn Lake.
A memorial service was held Sunday at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven.
David L. Etter was born in Nuremberg, Germany, on Feb. 8, 1952. He grew up in Wichita, Kan., going to a one room school house. He graduated high school and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree at Wichita State University. He received his CPA license and practiced accounting for many years and then proceeded on to become a VP at Bear Stearns.
David’s most cherished moments were spent with his family. He enjoyed movies, sports, and going out with the family. David Etter was married to his soulmate and wife for 31 years. During their years together, they were fortunate enough to raise several children together. David Etter always had an open door to anyone in need. Above anything else David Etter cherished all the times he got to spend with his loved one. David Etter will be truly missed by his closest friends and family.
David L. Etter leaves behind his wife Sanders Etter of Horn Lake; brother Jeff Etter of El Dorado, Kan.; son Courtney Lee Etter of Conyers, Ga.; nieces and nephews; Tonya Mitchell of Brandon, James Harrelson of Atlanta Bryan Duke of Southaven, Lauren Duke of Muskegon, Mich., Jason Etter and Seth Etter of El Dorado, Kan.; step-daughters, Barbie Lowe of Bartlett, Tenn., Anita Fleury of Memphis; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
David L. Etter is preceded in death by his father Carl Etter; his mother Dee Adams Stroud; and his step-father John Stroud.

Dorothy Lucille Jones

Mrs. Dorothy Lucille Jones, 90, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at Providence Memory Care in Grenada.
She was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Coffeeville to Elmer and Edna Aven Jones. She had worked for many years at Pennaco Hosiery and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Mrs. Jones was a cat lover and enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m, Tuesday, Dec. 18, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. A graveside service in the Coffeeville Cemetery will immediately follow visitation
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Raymond Jones; one daughter Debra Jones Bills (Keith) of Grenada; one son Raymond David Jones (Susan) of Madison; two grandsons, Michael Jones and Robert Bills; and two great-grandsons, Hayden and Caleb Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Aven and Paul Jones.

Unice L. Singleton

Funeral services for Unice L. Singleton of Grenada were Sunday at New Life Christian Fellowship Church with burial in Haven Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Singleton, 68, died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Dec. 6, 2018, in Robinsonville, Miss.
Mr. Singleton is survived by his mother Mary Singleton; father Emmanuel Washington, both of Grenada; daughter, Marvis Singleton of Grenada; three sons, Kip Hubbard, Raisland Hubbard and Patrick Hubbard, all of Grenada; two sisters, Gloria Singleton of Jackson and Brenda Washington of Detroit; and three brothers, Charles Booker and Michael Booker, both of Grenada, and Bill Washington of Jackson.

Geneva May Walker

Funeral services for Geneva May Roberts Walker, 78, of Grenada were Thursday, at Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada.
Burial was in the Indianola City Cemetery in Indianola.
Mrs. Walker died Dec. 10, 2018, at her home.
She was born on April 20, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Vernon and Jewell Roberts.
Geneva was a homemaker, and a she attended Lighthouse Ministries in Greenwood.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Thomas Walker; one sister Emorine White; and three grandchildren, Chase Glenn, Joshua Turner and Donny Tankesly Jr..
She is survived by her children, Louise Walker of Opp, Ala., Ann (Don) Clark of Inverness, John Thomas (Yvonne) Walker Jr. of Coilia, Tammy (Bobby) Glenn of Avon, Penny Carithers of Grenada, and Pam (James) McDonald of Grenada; one sister, Shirley Smith of Tunica; one brother, Sonny (LeAnne) Roberts of Texas; and numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Thomas Perry Yeoman

Mr. Thomas Perry “Tommy” Yeoman, 70, of Holcomb, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018. at his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1948, in Boyle to Perry and Ethel Cutts Yeoman. Tommy retired as a branch manager with Yellow Freight and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was an avid squirrel hunter and a Master Mason.  Tommy honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Intrepid.
Funeral services were Sunday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Interment was in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Terry Yeoman; daughter, LaShon Yeoman of Grenada; son, Tommy Hubbard (Laura) of Grenada; two step-daughters, Tammy Little Standard (Kelly) of Teasdale and Karla Little Allen (Lensy) of Holcomb; one granddaughter, Danielle Yeoman; two grandsons, Brandon Hubbard and Ashley Counts; four step-granddaughters, Allie Standard, Jessica Standard, Emily Allen and Kathryn “Kat” Little; one step-grandson, Josh Allen; three brothers, Perry Yeoman (Julie) of Grenada, Jerry Yeoman (Jamie) of Grenada and James Yeoman (Dale) of Carrollton; two sisters, Judy Yeoman Vail (Eddie) of Greenwood and Gussie Melton (Bob) of Charleston; two aunts, Ruby Doyle of Illinois and Helen Cutts Jones of Winona; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Yeoman and his favorite aunt and uncle, Edward and Brooxie Cutts.
Pallbearers were Keith Carver, Billy Cross, Mike Hoop, Jeff Stewart, John Terry and Patrick Yeoman. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Curtis, Teddy Ford, the Rev. Leo Hampton and Oscar Mitchell.
