Kirk Academy eighth grader Codi Beth Lee has a hobby that not many girls her age enjoy doing.
For the past seven years, Lee has been part of various fox hunts and bench shows.
Lee recently had a seventh place finish in the bench show for the National Foxhunters Association earlier this month at Grenada Lake. Eleven states and Canada were part of this year’s national hunt.
The award is one of many that the daughter of Traci and Chad Lee has brought home.
She has won two bench show championships in Calhoun County, Southern States and Grenada Lake. Lee has other wins at Flora Bama, Mississippi Open, Twin Lake and All-American. She also won at the 2016 Chase Bench Challenge.
The Chase magazine, a magazone devoted to fox hunting, featured Lee on the cover after she won the challenge three years ago.
This is quite an accomplishment for Lee, who is heavily involved with softball at Kirk, travel ball and basketball.
“I just love dogs,” Lee said. “It’s something I have been around my entire life.”
