November is synonymous with turkey dinner, and that’s exactly the main menu at the Grenada Soup Kitchen for the annual fundraiser.
The Soup Kitchen’s Harvest Dinner fundraiser has been set for Friday starting at 11 a.m. and lasting until two o’clock.
Soup Kitchen Director Cora Ford-Ingram said the harvest dinner, which is in it’s eighth year, is the biggest fundraiser for the Soup Kitchen.
Tickets are on sale for $15, and according to soup kitchen representatives, both dine-in and carry-out will be available.
The dinner will include a buffet style of dressing, meats, turnip greens, cabbage, string beans, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, yams, turkey, fried chicken and desserts.
“Nearly all of the greens have been picked,” Ford-Ingram said. “And there’s a ton of them that have been picked and cleaned.”
Those desiring to support the Harvest Dinner may also send checks to Cora Ford Ingram at 290 South Line Street and make them out to the Grenada Soup Kitchen.
