Funeral services for Deanna Collins Kirk of Winona were Monday, October 29, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona with burial following in Duck Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirk, 79, died at Providence Personal Care Home in Grenada on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018. She was born in Winona on Feb. 26, 1939, to Nick Pegues and Rosa Crane Brookshire Collins. She was retired from the Bank of Winona, where she worked for 44 years. Mrs. Kirk was a member of North Winona Baptist Church, where in the past she taught Sunday School, led in Children’s Church, and was a choir member. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Before her health declined, Mrs. Kirk enjoyed painting and traveling throughout the United States.
Mrs. Kirk was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Saxon “Pete” Kirk; her son Kendall Scott “Ken” Kirk; and a sister, Linda Pearson.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Stephanie Kirk of Starkville; grandson Ronnie Clardy of Starkville; sisters, Rosemary Boyette of Grenada and Amye Alldread of Winona; brothers, David Collins of Eupora and Bruce Collins of West Monroe, La.; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Winona Baptist Church Building Fund, 602 Alberta Drive, Winona, MS 38967; or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Elbert ‘Butch’ McNutt Jr.

Mr. Elbert Denman “Butch” McNutt Jr., 63, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.
He was born Sept. 11, 1955, in Greenwood to Elbert Denman McNutt and Bobbie Jean Morgan McNutt. Butch was raised in Greenwood and earned the distinction of Eagle Scout. He attended Pillow Academy and Delta State University. He had worked for many years as a mechanic, was a US Navy Veteran and avid fisherman. Butch enjoyed attending Friendship Baptist Church and exhibited his Christian faith by always putting others before himself. His kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada with Bro. Curt Liles officiating. Interment will follow in the Oddfellows East Cemetery in Greenwood.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Cathy McNutt; two sons, Josh McNutt (Katey) and Joseph McNutt, all of Grenada; two sisters, Wendy Stewart (Brad) of Clinton and Melanie Moore (Lardner) of Baltimore; one grandson Jaxon Bowers; a granddaughter expected to arrive in March 2019, Josey McNutt; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Mike McNutt.
