Raiders come up short in finale

Kirk Academy Coach Ken Chandler was hoping that his kids would find a way to close the season with a win Friday.
The Raiders had just a single win heading into the season finale at home against Macon Road Baptist Academy from Arlington, Tenn.
All the scoring took place in the opening half as Kirk came up short, losing  a 14-7 decision.
The Raiders end the season while Macon Road improves to 5-5 on the season.
“We thought going into the game that we could attack the perimeter,” Chandler said. “Most of our success running the football came on the inside.”
Defensively, the Raiders slowed down Macon’s flexbone in the second half limiting them to 70 yards.
“We allowed them to get outside on us in the first half,” Chandler said. “We adjusted at halftime and did a much better job in the second half.”
