In a week, city voters will head to the polls to vote on the one percent tourism tax increase that will go toward building a sports complex in the city.
According to Grenada City Manager Trey Baker polling places have been announced in each of the seven wards throughout the city for the Oct. 2 election. Only citizens who reside within the city limits of Grenada are eligible to vote
Municipal voting places
The Ward One voting place is the Grenada Fire Station No. 2 behind Wendy’s.
Ward Two voting place is the Rayford-Allen Building on Rayford Allen Drive.
Ward Three will vote at Taylor Hall on Butler Street.
Ward Four will vote at City Hall on 108 South Main Street.
Ward Five votes at the City Auditorium on 1700 North Main Street.
Ward Six will vote at the Southside Church of Christ Family Life Center on Highway 51 South.
Ward Seven will vote at the Grenada EOC Building on 370 Van Dorn Street.
Last week kicked off the start of absentee voting, which is being held in the City Clerk’s office on the first floor of City Hall.
Citizens who are unsure which ward they live should call the city clerk’s office at 226-8820 for help.
