Johnny Eligha Deaton
Johnny Eligha Deaton died Aug. 4, 2018, at Tallahatchie Extended Care Facility in Charleston.
Mr. Deaton was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Teasdale to the late Eligha Monroe Deaton and Dovie Lee Hollingsworth Deaton. He worked for FedEx for 12 years as a maintenance technician. Mr. Deaton enjoyed being a “salvage hunter,” tinkering with old tractors, and singing church hymns with his family. He also served as an elder at Jackson Grove Church of Christ in Enid.
A memorial service was conducted Saturday at Jackson Grove Church of Christ in Enid.
Mr. Deaton is survived by his daughter Carolyn Ratliff of Grenada; son Steve Deaton of Olive Branch; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Tommie Casey Deaton; son Larry (Butch) Deaton, and two sisters, Louise Collins and Sue Beard.
Seven Oaks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Faye Foster Lott
Faye Foster Lott, 86, of Grenada passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Tallahatchie General Hospital.
She was born March 21, 1932, in Bruce to Luke and Lona Caples Foster. Faye had worked for 51½ years as a master seamstress at Pennaco Hosiery. She was an avid gardener and a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 12, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Interment was in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Lott, Stephanie Lott and Kay Johnson; two sons, Mike Lott and Keith Lott (Emily); brother, Aaron Foster; sister, Billie Robinson all of Grenada; five grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson (Brandi), Callie Terry (Clint), Kayla Smith (Tommy), Keitlyn Lott (Kyle) and Joshua Luke Lott; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Floyd Lott; son Terry Lott; two sisters, Lura Carpenter and Johnnie Foster; four brothers, Lloyd, Carl Ray, Fred and Jimmy Foster.
Pallbearers were Chad Carpenter, Zane Ford, Doug McDonald, Knox Penn, Tommy Smith, Scott Stroup and Clint Terry.

Morine Chaney Odom
Morine Chaney Odom, 88, a homemaker, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Grace Health and Rehab in Grenada.
She born April 5, 1930, in Tallahatchie County and was the daughter of the late Charlie Randolph Smith and Bessie Altha Smith. She was the widow of Albert Lee Chaney.
Survivors include daughters, Sandra Franklin of Cascilla and Wanda Sue Logan of Leesville, La.; son Patrick Lee Chaney of Cascilla; sister Clarice Dahl of Charleston; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Services were Monday at North Shady Grove Church of God at Cacsilla with burial at New Smith Cemetery at Cascilla,
Womble Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
