Qualifying set for two elected posts

Staff Writer

The qualifying window for two local leadership seats will be open for one month starting Wednesday.
According to Grenada County Circuit Clerk Michele Redditt-Garcia, qualifying papers will be available for anyone seeking to run for District Four School Board Seat and the District Four Election Commissioner seat.
Redditt-Garcia said qualifying papers for potential candidates will be available at the circuit clerk’s office, and 50 signatures are required when returned. The 50 signatures, according to Redditt, must be from registered voters of that district.
“The final day for qualifying papers will be 5 p.m. on Sept. 7, but we’re asking that they be returned no later than four o’clock, so we can make sure everything is correct,” Redditt said.

Both races will appear on the Nov. 6 ballot.
