Willie L. Carvan
Willie L. Carvan, 82, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Miss. in Oxford.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville.Interment was in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Carvan was born on April 17, 1936, to the late Ava Lillian Phillips and Gerard Walters Carvan in Enid. During his lifetime, he worked as an inspector for MDOT and served with the Mississippi National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife Katherine Doubleday Carvan of Oakland; two children, Vicky Carvan Thomas of Grenada and Rickey Carvan of Oakland; his sister Pat McGregor of Enid; his brother Kenneth Carvan of Enid; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Wells Funeral Home was in charge.
Helen Parker Daves
Graveside services for Helen Parker Daves of Winona will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona on Tuesday, Aug. 7, immediately following the visitation at Oliver Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Mrs. Daves, 91, died at her home in Winona on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018. She was born to Tillman Andrew and Allie Ella Blaylock Parker on Nov. 8, 1926. She was a retired co-owner of Daves Furniture and Cable Company and a member of First Baptist Church in Winona.
Mrs. Daves is survived by her daughter Christye VanHorn of Winona; her son David Earl Daves of Winona; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Mallie Earl Daves Jr.; three sisters, Estelle Blackwelder, Lela Mae Austin and Gladys Allison; and two brothers, Leon Parker and Denmond Parker.

Sherrie Annette Floyd
Sherrie Annette Floyd, 45, of Big Creek, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
She was born Aug. 23, 1972. in Memphis. Sherrie was a 1990 graduate of Grenada High School and attended Holmes Community College. She had previously worked at ADP and in the home health field.
Funeral services were Saturday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with the Rev. James Melton officiating. Interment was in the Wayside Cemetery at Scobey.
Sherrie is survived by two daughters, Ashley Floyd of Calhoun City and Samantha Turner (Will) of Calhoun City; one son Justin Floyd (Kelsey) of Vardaman; her father Gene Pollan of Grenada; three sisters, Donna Winders of Tillatoba, Terry Floyd of Duck Hill and Cindy Knight of Smyrna, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Nelson Floyd, Lathan Floyd, Alyssa Turner, Braylyn Floyd and Lyle Turner; and her fiancé Billy Martin of Big Creek.
She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Barkley Pollan.
Pallbearers were Gary Barkley, Randy Barkley, Phillip Floyd, Colby Hipp, Cody Pollan and Curt Pollan. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Barkley and Russell Barkley.
