District Four County Supervisor Darrell Robinson plans to appoint the next election commissioner this week.
The appointment will come following last week’s departure of Rhonda Hubbard, whose resignation letter was accepted by the Grenada County Board of Supervisors on July 2.
Robinson said that the law requires that a 10-day window is given to appoint a new election commissioner. He said the process is near the end.
“I would like to make an appointment on Thursday, that way we can get the new election commissioner sworn in and certified,” Robinson said.
The next county election is Nov. 6 when polls are open for the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representative, local judge seats and a school board seat.
