Plans are in the making for Grenada’s Downtown Jubilee, the city’s biggest fall gathering, with one added addition coming this year.
According to Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Wanda Thompson, music has been added to the slate of activities that are scheduled for Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Square.
“This is one of the things that the Jubilee Committee looked at and decided to add to the festival,” Thompson said.
Nick Liberto, who is leading the musical half of the Jubilee, said this year’s special guest band will be the Players. Liberto said the band will begin performing at 5:30.
Liberto said there will also be the regular entertainment throughout the day.
According to Jubilee Co-Chairman Virginia Fulton the committee is in search of vendors for arts and crafts, food, children’s activities, and classic car show.
Fulton said 12 x 12 vendor spaces are also available for arts and crafts and food sellers.
“The Jubilee is finally here, and everyone’s excited about it,” Fulton said. “People love the Jubilee because it’s a family event. There’s a car show for the men, shopping for the women and a play area for the children.” Jubilee committee member Kim McRee said several vendors have already signed on for the event, and there is room for more.
