John Harold Long
Mr. John Harold “Johnny” Long, 69, of Holcomb, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 24, 1948, in Big Creek to Martin Alexander and Essie Lewis Long. Johnny retired as a route salesman with Mid-South Produce. He was a member of Holcomb Baptist Church, was an animal lover and a model train collector.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Larry Edwards and the Rev. David Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Holcomb Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday all at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include his wife Becky Edwards Long; one daughter Ann Long Johnson of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Tiffany Owen, Cameron Owen and Mary Kate Johnson; one sister Aline White of Madison and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Becky Walters and Brenda Jennings, and a brother Martin Earl Long.
Pallbearers will be Michael Edwards, Daniel Hoss, Jason Jennings, Robbie Jennings, Trey Lance and Robert Walters. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Bailey, Donald Edwards and Ronald Edwards.
Memorials may be directed to the Hope Animal Sanctuary.

Services for the Rev. Robert “Butch” McChriston of Columbus are incomplete.
The Rev. McChriston, 63, a native of Duck Hill, died June 7, 2018, in Columbus.

Patrick Louie Wiles
Patrick Louie Wiles, 60, of Grenada and native of Columbus, died at home Friday, May 25, 2018.
He was a truck driver and is preceded in death by his parents Harold Elliot Wiles and Peggy Irene Burns.
Mr. Wiles is survived by a special friend Misty Cornish of Grenada; daughter Mindy Wiles of Columbus, stepdaughter Angie Moore of Columbus; two brothers, Greg and Barry Wiles; two sisters, Sandra and Bellie Bell of Columbus; a host of grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
No services are planned.
