Funeral services for Mae Judy “Sister” Phillips Loggins Brown of Grenada, formerly of Winona, are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Burning Bush M. B. Church with burial in Haven Rest Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown, 79, died of natural causes on May 22, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. She was born on Sept. 23, 1938. Mrs. Brown enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She was a member of NAACP, Black Entrepreneur Organization, and the Ways and Means Community.
Mrs. Brown is survived by five daughters, Paula A. Hudgins, Glenda Loggins-Yates and Marilyn Loggins Reece, all of Grenada; Sandra Loggins Maggitt of Pflugerville, Texas, and Priscilla Loggins Thompson of Fayetteville, Ga.; four sons, Paul Phillips of Coffeeville; Glen Loggins and Jackie Loggins, both of Grenada; and Phil Loggins of Water Valley; sister Mary Phillips Robinson of St. Louis; and five brothers, Edward Phillips, William “Bo” Phillips, George Phillips and Thomas Phillips, all of Winona; and B.F. Phillips of St. Louis.

John D. Lamkin

Mr. John D. Lamkin, 78, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at his residence.
He was born May 24, 1939, in Montgomery County to John Harvey and Stella Mae Jacks Lamkin. John retired after working for over 45 years at Heatcraft as a Tool and Die Manager.  He was a member and deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was also active in the Gideons. John enjoyed gardening and anything associated with the outdoors; however, he will be remembered most as a devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Clarence Cooper and the Rev. Eugene Heimbach officiating. Interment was in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada.                                    Survivors include his wife of 59 years Mary Lamkin; son Dwayne Lamkin and his wife Martha of Grenada; daughter Jennifer Lamkin Dickson of Grenada; grandchildren, Tyler Lamkin, Emily Lamkin, Hunter Dickson, Jacob Dickson and John Conner Dickson; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Dickson; three sisters, Pat Wagner and her husband Dwayne of Stoystown, Penn., Ouida Bennett of Tupelo and Peggy Sasser of Upper Marlboro, Md.; one brother Joe Lamkin of Leesburg, Ga.; in-laws, Charlie Long and his wife Kathy of Dorsey, Buddie Long and his wife Joyce of Mooreville, Tim Long and his wife Pammie of Tupelo, Lynda Green and her husband Davis of Dorsey, Virginia Langford and her husband David of Tupelo and William “Snap” Lucius of Mooreville; and a host of nieces and nephews.                                                                          He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ward Lamkin and Margaret Fultz; brother Nathan Lamkin and a son-in-law Dwayne Dickson.                                                                                                      Pallbearers were Danny Aldridge, Gene Bell, Stephen Dorroh, Brad Fleming, Jerry Gilliland, Terry Hutchins, Pitt Kimbrough and Rodney Murphy.  Honorary pallbearers were members of Dr. Tom Holden’s Sunday school class.

Robert McNeal Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert McNeal Jr. are Saturday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at the Ed Roberts Chapel of Remembrance in Winona.
Mr. McNeal, 69, of Duck Hill, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at UMMC-Grenada in Grenada.
He is survived by three sons, Rodney McNeal, Winona; Xavian McNeal, Memphis; Marlin McNeal, Grenada; daughter, Stephanie McNeal, Duck Hill; three brothers, Johnny Lee McNeal, Walter B. McNeal, both of Duck Hill; G. W. McNeal, Gary, Ind.; six sisters, Fannie Taylor, Linda Faye Campbell, Christine Small, all of Duck Hill; Lettie B. Young, Kilmichael; Deloris McInnis, Jackson; Renice McNeal, New Albany; five grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, from 2 until 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 until 10:55 a.m. at Roberts & Sons Mortuary in Winona.

Joseph Boyd Rogers

Mr. Joseph Boyd Rogers, 60, of Grenada, passed away May 21, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.
He was born Nov. 2, 1957, in Hattiesburg. Joe faithfully attended Emmanuel Baptist Church with his family and worked for many years at Randall Textron in Grenada. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and his dogs.
Funeral services were at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Interment was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sisters, June Liddell and her husband Mike and Kim McWhorter and her husband Jeff, all of Grenada; four nieces, Ginger Liddell, Mandy Ayers, Ashley McWhorter and Haley McWhorter; and two nephews, Ron Nail and Matthew McWhorter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Sue Hayward, and a sister, Suzanne Nail.
Pallbearers were John Ayers, Mike Liddell, Jeff McWhorter, Matthew McWhorter, Ron Nail and Jeff Vance.
