Elmer Fletcher ‘Joe’ Moorman Jr.
Funeral services for Elmer Fletcher ‘Joe’ Moorman Jr., 83, of Scobey, are at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at the Pentecostals of Grenada.
Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery at Rosebloom.
Mr. Moorman died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at The Med in Memphis.
He was born on June 30, 1934, in Tallahatchie County and was the son of the late Elmer F. Moorman and Allie Huddleston Moorman.
Mr. Moorman was employed by Heatcraft as a machine operator. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Air Force
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings, Clifton Moorman, J.T. Moorman, Myrtle Wilcox, Arnold Moorman, Ocean Hand, Mildred Martin and Bonnie Pyborn; and one step-daughter Debbie Ashworth.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Roberts Moorman of Scobey; two daughters, Phebia Merrill and her husband Mitchell of Grenada, and Sharon McNabb of Elliott; two sisters, Wilma Williamson and Mary Frances Moorman; seven brothers, Dewey Moorman, W.T. Moorman, Mac Moorman (Peggy), John Moorman, Paul Moorman (Kay), Raymond Moorman, and Stewart Moorman; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
