A Grenada woman was killed in a single car accident Thursday night.
Grenada Police Chief Garrett Hartley identified the woman as 26-year-old Mercedes Sellers.
Captain Carnell Farmer said the accident occurred around 7:30 near the South Commerce Street intersection at Jackson Avenue and Mondy Road.
“The vehicle she was driving left the road and hit a light pole and then collided with a tree,” Farmer said. “Right now that’s all the information we can give.”
Sellers was airlifted from the scene by helicopter, but first responders could not say what hospital Sellers was flown.
The accident remains under investigation.
