Grenada breaks district title drought

It’s been a long time since the Grenada Lady Chargers haven’t won a division title in fast pitch since 2006.
That all changed this week as Coach Leslie Lancaster’s crew wrapped up the division title with wins over Saltillo and Lafayette.
Monday, they cruised to a 17-6 win at Saltillo. A night later, GHS clinched the title with a 5-0 win over Lafayette.
With the wins, Grenada improves to 11-5 on the season.
“It’s a credit to these girls and the hard work they have put in all season,” Lancaster said. “We came out focused and ready to play like we did at the first of the season.”
