John M. ‘Jimmy’ Fancher III
John M. “Jimmy” Fancher III, 68, of Grenada, formerly of Greenwood, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at his residence.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home.
The Rev. Dennis McKay will officiate.
Mr. Fancher was born Dec. 11, 1949. in Greenwood to John M. Fancher Jr. and Jewel Chambers Fancher. He was a graduate of Leflore County High School and attended Holmes Community College. Mr. Fancher was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He retired from the Miss. State Department of Corrections after 18 years. Mr. Fancher was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War. His hobbies were fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Louise Fancher and his parents.
Mr. Fancher is survived by his wife Carolyn Marie Kent of Grenada; two sons, Ben Fancher and wife Haley of Mobile, Ala., and Timothy Skelton and wife Tabatha of Greenwood; three daughters, Sharon Dawn Fancher of Venus, Texas, Rebecca Jane Fancher of Harrison, Ark., and Victoria Harper and husband Ray of Holcomb; brother Robert “Bob” Fancher and wife Suzanne of Grenada; a niece Lauren Fancher; two nephews, John M. Fancher and Robert H. Fancher, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Fancher, John Fancher, Robert Fancher, Jason Mims, Chris Harper and Bobby Goss.
Military rites by American Legion Post 29 of Greenwood and the Patriot Riders of Mississippi will lead the funeral procession.

Margaret Victoria Hamilton
Funeral services for Margaret Victoria “Vicki” Hamilton, 71, of Holcomb, are at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, at Friendship Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Quitman, Miss.
Visitation is Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hamilton died Saturday, April 7, 2018, at UMMC-Grenada. She was born on Jan. 16, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Andy and Mary Lee Tucker.
Vicki was employed by the Mississippi State Department of Health as a bookkeeper. She was a member Friendship Baptist Church. Vicki enjoyed puzzles, especially Sudoku. She loved her family, and she loved animals, especially cats.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her husband Jimmy Dee Hamilton of Holcomb; two daughters, Michelle Conner and Jody Welch, both of Grenada; one sister Sharon Walker of Friendswood, Texas; one grandchild Shaye Conner; and two nephews, Ben Walker and Mike Walker.
Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church; the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
