New warden at county jail

Brad Carver has been named new warden at the Grenada County Jail.
Ed Hargett, of Corrections Management Services, the firm that operates the jail, informed the Grenada County Board of Supervisors at their regularly scheduled meeting Monday that Carver was selected to replace longtime warden William Tedford.
According to Hargett, Tedford resigned in March, and Carver was selected as the best candidate to run the jail with his background in the corrections and public safety.
“Mr. Tedford had originally intended to work until October, but after a family medical issue he decided to resign,” Hargett said. “We soon announced the job opening, and Brad came along for us.”
According to Hargett, Carver began his career as a correctional officer at the Delta Correctional Facility in Greenwood before years in law enforcement with the Winona Police Department and as a deputy sheriff in Carroll County.
