Joyce M. Melton
Joyce M. Melton, 78, died March 28, 2018, at her residence in Webb.
Funeral services were Monday at Newsom Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Interment was in Magnolia Garden Cemetery in the Paynes Community.
Mrs. Melton retired after serving in the banking business for 36 years; she loved going to church and serving her Lord.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years James Melton of Webb; her son Warren Quint Melton of Webb; two sisters, Mary Lee of Cascilla and Shelby Urley of Cleveland; her brother J. W. Moorman of Brazil, Miss.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Melton is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lenora Moorman, and her son Virgil Laborn Melton.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.

Thomas Michael Skelton
After a short illness, Thomas Michael “Tommy” Skelton of Olive Branch passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch.
Tommy was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Marks. A graduate of Marks High School, he attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
He was a General Contractor for many years in several locations in Mississippi and Colorado. Tommy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada and was an ardent Ole Miss sports fan.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Johnson Skelton of Olive Branch and five children, Mike Skelton (Mary Jo) of Coldwater, Candace Tucker (Tommy) of Oxford, Kristi Decoster (Jeff) of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Laura Skelton and Megan Skelton both of Memphis; and five grandchildren. He is also survived by a half-brother Ray Skelton (Tiny) of Oxford.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Skelton and Susie Simpson of Marks, and his grandparents, Mike and Mae Skelton of Slate Springs, and Veola Simpson of Marks.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on April 7, at Carmella’s Ristorante in Grenada. Interment will take place at a later time at Bethany Cemetery in Slate Springs.
Maudie Lee Wilson
Funeral services for Maudie Lee Avery Wilson were Monday at Greater Powell Chapel African Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wilson, 97, of Grenada, died March 26, 2018, at her residence.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by five daughters, Maudie Louise Wilson of Milwaukee, Lucy Bell Crowder of San Diego, Ann Althea House of Grenada, the Rev. Sheila Wilson Freelon and Lynette Carol Wilson of Chicago; seven sons, George Henry Wilson of Fresno, Calif., David Wilson Jr. of Milwaukee, Talmadge Ellis Wilson of Milwaukee, and Jacksonville, Fla., Lee Russell Wilson of Lancaster, Calif., Joseph Wilson of Grenada, Norman Haze Wilson of Milwaukee, Marvin Durrell Wilson of Grenada; 30 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Autrie Lee Brownlee of Claremore, Okla., and Ell Mae Meyers of Memphis.
Interment was in the Haven Rest Cemetery.
Clark-Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
