Those attending the Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Banquet Friday night got the ultimate treat, along with stunning news of two country music mega stars coming to town later this year.

Grenada native Charlie Worsham performed for a record-setting 350 in attendance at the Corey Forum at Holmes Community College, and during his set, he announced that Grammy award winning stars Vince Gill and Amy Grant will be the special guests at his Follow Your Heart Scholarship Gala this year.

“I felt as if the time was right to ask Vince and Amy to attend the gala,” Worsham told the crowd during his performance.

The date for this year’s Follow Your Heart Gala has yet to be set.

Follow Your Heart Co-chairperson Carolyn Laster introduced Worsham to the crowd prior to his 30 minute performance.

Worsham performed a total of five songs.
“I’m grateful for this community for raising me,” Worsham said. “There’s no other place like Mississippi, and when I travel, I take Mississippi with me.”
