Grenada County was awarded $170,000 that looks to benefit one local industry as well as paying for much-needed equipment and sheriff’s patrol cars.
Congressman Bennie Thompson recently announced that the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development has awarded a grant in the amount of $84,500 through the Rural Business Development Program and $86,100 through the Community Facilities Program to the Grenada County Board of Supervisors.
As a result of the grant, the sheriff’s department will purchase two patrol vehicles.
