Jerry Caulder

Jerry Caulder, 68, of Grenada, died Jan. 31, 2018, at his home.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 3, at 3 p.m., at Dividing Ridge Cemetery near Coffeeville.
Visitation is Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 4, 1949, in Coffeeville and was the son of the late Edgar Clayton Caulder and Edna Mae Gilbert Caulder.
Jerry was employed by Heatcraft as a group leader until his retirement. He was a Baptist.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Wanda Sue Pennington Caulder; and by one brother William Larry Caulder.
He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Taylor and Tammy Norris of Grenada; two sisters, Judy Caulder of Coffeeville and Patricia McElhaney of Big Creek; three brothers, James L. Caulder and Stanley Caulder of Coffeeville and Charles E. Caulder of Pontotoc and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude.

Jewel M. Harvill

Mrs. Jewel M. Harvill, 91, of Grenada, went to join her Lord on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Grenada Living Center.
She was born March 21, 1926, in rural Neshoba County to Allen and Tilda Beckham Cumberland. She did many things in her life: working on the family farm, owning her own café, managing a storage business and, in her later years, she was a homemaker, wife and mother.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Grenada Memorial Garden with Phillip Cook officiating.
She is survived by a son, Sandy Smith (Allison) of Elgin, Minn.; granddaughter Kimberly Culpepper and grandson Richard Smith, and three great grandchildren, Starr, Cole and Necoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Grover Smith and Charles Harvill; and a daughter Jennie Moline.

Aaron Monger

Aaron Monger, 79, of Holcomb, died Jan. 29, 2018, at UMMC-Grenada.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at New St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Jarby and Addie Herrod of Holcomb, and Minnie Miller of Greenwood; two sons, Aaron Monger Jr. and Percy Monger of Holcomb; one sister Susie Monger of Holcomb; one brother Renzel Monger of Grenada.

Nancy Carol Shields

Nancy Carol Shields, formerly of Grenada, died Jan. 22, 2018, in an automobile accident near Waverly, Tenn.
Services were Jan. 27 at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1962, in Winona and was the daughter of the late Edgar “Sonny Boy” Shields and Barbara Bennett Shields.
Nancy was employed as a grocery store meat-wrapper. She attended the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Wayne Shields.
Survivors include two sisters, Cynthia Shields Winters of Kilmichael and Linda Shields Dabney and of Alabaster, Ala.; her godfather William Stavely of Waverly, and a host of nieces and nephews.

William Eugene Sykes, 57, of Grenada, died Jan. 25, 2018, in Hollandale.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Clark-Williams Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Haven Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Sykes is survived by his seven sisters, Mary Versell and Vanessa Sykes of Grenada; Mae Farmer, Diane Sally and Historian Mack of Carrollton; Janice Sykes of Little Rock, and Verise Mack of Memphis; one brother Sidney Sykes of Chicago.

Melody Dunn Vanburen, 52, of Grenada, died on Jan. 23, 2018, at Grenada Living Center.
Services will be Saturday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist.
Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband Johnny Vanburen of Grenada; three daughters, Jerry Porter, Jazzmin Vanburen and Melonie Vanburen of Grenada; two sons, Johnny Vanburen Jr. of Grenada and Joshua Vanburen of Chicago; two sisters, Lisa Vanburen and Jean Vanburen of Chicago.
