A man charged with 45 counts involving children will make his initial court appearance next week, according to justice court officials.

Justice Court Clerk Judith Eldridge identified the man as James Kendall.

Sheriff’s officials have charged Kendall with multiple felony charges, and he is scheduled to appear before Judge Jimmy Tallant on Feb. 15.

Deputy Sonya Willis, who handles crime cases involving children, said Kendall, 60, was arrested on Jan. 24 in Elliott.

According to the Grenada County Jail’s arrest docket, Kendall is facing 22 counts of sexual battery of a child under 14 years old, 13 counts of molestation, five counts of rape, five counts of exploitation of children and one count of indecent exposure.
The sheriff’s department said the case is very sensitive, and they are making all efforts to protect the privacy of those involved.
