Benny Russell Fulwood

Mr. Benny Russell Fulwood, 60, of Coffeeville, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.

He was born April 3, 1957, in Cleveland to William Hugh and Velma Geneva Brown Fulwood. He had worked for many years at Crown Cork and Seal in Batesville and prior to that at Holley Carburetor.

A memorial service was held Sundayat the Shiloh Cowboy Church near Coffeeville with the Rev. Ron Sessums officiating.

Survivors include his long-time companion Minnie Pomerlee; sister Brenda Edwards of Greenville; brother Marvin Fulwood of Loudon, Tenn.; a special nephew Scott Sellars of Coffeeville; two granddaughters, Cricket and Laci Sellars of Coffeeville, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Martha Sellars and JoAnn Harrison, and two brothers, William Hugh Fulwood Jr. and Mickey Fulwood.

Susan Frazier Griffis

Mrs. Susan Frazier Griffis, 65, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.

She was born April 16, 1952, in Grenada to Joseph Daniel and Gloria Rouse Frazier. Mrs. Griffis was a homemaker and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. Susan was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Grenada with the Rev. Josh Messick officiating. Interment will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years Tommy Griffis of Grenada; two daughters, Amy Griffis Chapman (John) of Oxford and Lisa Griffis Parker (Lane) of Pheba; one son Lee Griffis of Grenada; two brothers, Joe Frazier (Terry) and Reed Frazier, all of Grenada; and five grandchildren, Robyn Nicole Parker, Rebecca Lynn Chapman, Amy Elizabeth Chapman, Hallie Elaine Griffis and Kathryn Lea Chapman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Amy Rebecca Frazier.

Memorials may be directed to All Saints Episcopal Church, the Elizabeth Jones Library or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jewel Harville

Jewel Harville, 91, of Grenada died Jan. 29, 2018. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later. McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service will be in charge of Arrangements.

Steward E. Hood

Stewart E. Hood, 81, of Carroll County died Jan. 6, 2018.

He was born to Bob and Birdie Hood on June 12, 1936. He attended Calvary School and J.Z. George. He worked for Sears for 26 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Birdie Hood, and his brother Robert Hood.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Linda D. Hood, four children; Elaine, Bo and Tim of Grenada, and Alice of Visalia, Calif., nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Allen of Grenada, Sidney of Marks and Billy of Nesbit.

Services were at the Church of God in Grenada on Jan. 8, with burial Jan. 9 at Bethel Cemetery.
Skeeter Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Johnny L. Livingston

Mr. Johnny L. Livingston, 54, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada.

He was born Sept. 15, 1963, in Cleveland to Bobby Liddell and Patricia Ann Sharon Livingston. Mr. Livingston had worked most of his life in the construction business as a mechanic and truck driver. Johnny was a member of Philipp Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, Friday, Feb. 2, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with the Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Holcomb Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his daughter Kourtney Turner (Cody Terry) of Holcomb; son Kurt Livingston of Holcomb; father Bobby Livingston of Philipp; sister Kim Cook of Houston, Texas; brother Keith Livingston (Nessie) of Philipp; granddaughter Alyssa Grace Turner and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Opal Edwards Lott

Mrs. Opal Edwards Lott, 94, of Holcomb, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Holcomb to Frank Aubrey and Bessie Jackson Edwards. Mrs. Lott owned and operated Pete’s Grocery in Holcomb for over 37 years. She was a member of Holcomb Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, and she had previously been a member of Sparta United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Holcomb Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating. Interment will follow in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include her daughter Kay Darby (Richard) of Sardis; five grandchildren, Michael Lott of Holcomb, Steven Lott of Holcomb, Amy Kilgore of Holcomb, Laura Whittemore of Grenada and Bryan Nail of Grenada; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pete Lott; son Larry Lott; sister Julia Edwards and a brother F.A. Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Bearden, Harry Lott Jr., Rodney Mainelli, Gordon Minyard, Ronnie Nail, Donnie Payne, Robert Smith, Tommy Williams, Terry Welch and Myron Wilson.

Earl Thomas Moss

Mr. Earl Thomas Moss, 91, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, in Brandon.

He was born Dec. 21, 1926, in Grenada to James D. and Myrtle Grantham Moss. Mr. Moss worked for many years as a building contractor with Moss Brothers Construction.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grenada and the Grenada Exchange Club.  Mr. Moss honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 29, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Dr. Jim Nunnelee officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife Doris Moss of Grenada; one daughter Gail Turner (Charles) of Brandon; one son Don Moss (Eleanor) of Hazel Green, Ala.; four grandchildren, Brad Turner of Brandon, Scott Turner of Dallas, Jennifer Turner of Brandon and David Gray of Alabama; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Mike Evans; three sisters, Audrey Coats, Velma Lott and Beulah Sigman; and two brothers, J.D. Moss Jr. and Warner Moss.

Pallbearers were Filo Coats, Brooks Moss, Kenny Moss, Bobby Sigman, Brad Turner and Scott Turner. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Gardner, Wayne Jones, Archie Leggett, Ralph Petty, Donald Skelton, Jack Speir and Jerol Vaughn.

Clarence Wayne Winters

Mr. Clarence Wayne Winters, 62, of Grenada, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 4, 1955, in Tallahatchie County to Luther Edward and Sarah Mildred Allbritton Winters.

Mr. Winters had worked for many years at Luvata in Grenada and was an accomplished musician.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at New Bethel Holiness Church with the Rev. Matt Hill and the Rev. Jerry Hill officiating.  Interment will follow in the North Shady Grove Cemetery at Cascilla. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at thechurch.

Survivors include his daughter Andrea Wright of Philadelphia; two sons, Danny Robertson of Philadelphia and Justin Winters of Grenada; four sisters, Annell Kendall of Grenada, Vivian Blount of Duck Hill, Sonia Hill of Cascilla and Cynthia Frazier of Philadelphia; four brothers, Roy E. Winters of Cascilla, Charlie Gene Winters of Cascilla, Radford Winters of Grenada and Merrill Winters of Cascilla; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth Earl and Terry Lewis Winters.
