A Grenada man is in hot water following a high-speed chase along Interstate-55.
A man identified by authorities as Joshua Williams, 31, is facing an armed carjacking charge stemming from an incident that occurred on Friday morning.
According to the Grenada Police Department’s incident report, the officers responded to a call of a disturbance involving a weapon at a home in the 2000 block of Highway 332.
The report states that the homeowners, who are relatives of Williams, told officers that Williams had taken a handgun from the home.
“(A woman) stated that he pointed the handgun at her, and he demanded she give him the keys to her vehicle,” the report states. “She stated she pleaded with him to put the handgun down, but for her and her husband’s safety she handed them over.”
