Authorities have arrested a third person in connection with the kidnapping and beating of a woman in Elliott.
A man identified by the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department as Robert Slater, 53, of Holcomb was arrested by deputies and now faces charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault.
According to Grenada County Justice Court, Slater is expected in court this week and is being held on a $110,000 bond.
Officials with the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department previously arrested a man they identified as Sam T. Hearn, 57, and a woman they identified as Brandy Williamson Hyde, 38, in connection with the Nov. 19 incident.
Last week Hyde was bound over to the Grenada County Grand Jury on kidnapping and aggravated assault charges, and Hearn was bound over on charges of aggravated assault and possession of meth.
According to Grenada County Justice Court, kidnapping charges against Hearn were dismissed, and he remains in the county jail on $50,000 bond.
Hyde’s bond was set at $110,000.
All of the charges stem from an incident on Ligon Road in Elliott in which a middle-aged woman was found severely beaten and held against her will at a home.
